NDE Inspector

$20 – $30 an Hour

The NDE Inspector is responsible for all in process and final inspections including visual and NDT techniques such as PT, MT and UT in accordance with the company, industry standard, and customer specifications and requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to comply and enforce the company’s Quality Management System
  • Maintain proper certifications and training necessary to be compliant in NDT methods and testing
  • Ensure that project specifications and inspections are accomplished in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensures that required reports are completed accordingly to project specifications
  • Properly markup dimensions or welds that fail NDT methods
  • Create bubble drawings and AP forms
  • Report Non-conforming Material Reports and corrective actions to shop supervisor and Director of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control Manager
  • Assist quality and production teams with root cause analysis
  • Notify Project Manager or Quality Control Manager of any non-conforming material
  • Maintain NDE equipment in clean, organized and operational condition


  • Experience as a machinist, programmer, inspector or vocational school or apprenticeship training preferred
  • Able to read blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to use/read/interpret tape measure, micrometer, calipers, depth micrometers, and bore gauges
  • Mechanically inclined and knowledge of “shop math”, metal properties, and the mechanics of operating a machine
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Ability to follow safety and quality instructions. Proper use of PPE and attending safety training applicable to your job position
